  • Birthday Plan

Few of my friends have been asking if I have any plan for my birthday. or what I want for my birthday. Few months ago I was excited about planning it but not any more. I cancelled all my original plans. I don't need anything. I don't like recession. I just want to hang out and have fun with my friends. Perhaps a small slumber party would be fun. I am looking forward

  • Expectation

I always believe expectation means motivation and improvement. I have high expectation of myself and so do my family and friends. Despite the minor pressure at times, I never felt overwhelmed. However, there is one form of expectation which I would not be able to meet easily--those within relationship. Friends would always complain or whine about their boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands and wives. They (we) are never satisfied; they want changes. Qualities that we once accept can no longer be tolerate, why? Someone once told me he wouldn't mind that I have a busy schedule, all he asked is one phone call each day. My immediate response is impossibility. People are greedy in nature. How can we possibly satisfy with what you have? We are willing to compromise only because we want to get what we want. However, our expectation changes overtime. It starts with one call a day and gradually we would increase our demand of attention from the other person. Another friend also told me that he's "only" 90% happy with his relationship. I think that's good enough.

In this imperfect world, why is perfection so important?

  • Good Luck and farewell: Jon and Molina relocated to GA last saturday. I went to their farewell party last Thursday. When I entered the house, I dont even want talk to Jon because I knew I would cry. I am excited for their opportunities and decision but I am missing them. Jon is one of my go-to-person when I first started at Assurant. We fought alot but we were closed too. There were days I got so mad at him about work but I would still go to his desk when I took my nap during breaks. It's like family's love and hate relationship. I went to airport on Saturday around 5am to meet up with jon and molina. Turned out they didn't show up till 5:30am.

New dinner routine (dinner + dessert/tea at different locations; min 5 hours): Went to diner with Nari last friday. We first ate at Kaya and went to Lollicup afterward. It was a good chat with her. Felt like I kidnapped her from her husband. We hang out till 11pm or so. We shared stories about the weirdos at work. Another interesting thing is that her family were famous actor and actress in Korea. Every time she went back to Korea, people still recognized her parents though they retired now. She's the only one who did not choose that path.

Pre-xmas at Gift Wrap: As I suffered headache from the lack of sleep, the store was quite busy on Sat. I didn't get a chance to rest the whole day except my lunch break. My coworkers and I felt like this is xmas week already. Truly, we've been too comfortable working at a slower pace after the holiday rush. Last year, starting with thanksgiving, even if we have 5 people working at gift wrapping, we would still have a 3 hours waiting period before customers can pick up their gifts. It's quite hectic yet interesting.

MJ's This is It: Met up with Eric for diner and watched movie "This is It." after work on Sat. If not I am too tired from work and lack of sleep, I would have enjoyed the movie even better. There were times I totally blanked out and my eyes are barely opened.  Before I went, I thought this is just a DVD-type of movie. Something I am interested but wouldn't intiate to watch at theaters. Surprisedly, the movie is actually pretty good; it's indeed quite impressive. No wonder all 50 shows are sold out. It's been awhile the media focused on his music and talent instead of his trials.

Papa's 66th Birthday: We went to ESPN at downtown disney. Food is okay but the drinks are good. Papa said this is the 2nd best birthay he ever had. I am glad he enjoyed it. After dinner, Janet, Karen and I went to Tokyo Table for dessert. Even though Janet is Karen's supervisor, she is actually very friendly and approachable. Janet mentioned this is a great night for her too whereas she is able to be away from home and enjoyed some free time. I guess that's what happened once you are married and esp when you had kids.

Veterans' Day: Hang out with Karen. We went shopping and played "barbie".

  • Chatty

had a great diner with Karen last night. we first had japanese grill, then we went to laguna beach for dessert and tea. The chocolate brulee is so tasty. definitely going to revisit this place. we met at school and somehow we had an instant click. this is our first time hang out and we already had a 4-5 dinner. she's so funny, she's a 100% online shopper. almost everything she used, she wear and even food and drinks are bought online!!

by the time i got home is already pass 11pm, ended up staying up till 2:30am chatting with Eric. it was a good chat; however, somehow i cant recall exactly wat we talked about at all, probably b/c our conversation is absolutely spontaneous and random...E.T. + stalker +Viet + chan ho nan + my free dessert, etc. this reminds me of my college times...

heard a sad news at work today, my former supervisor at macys became so depressed since he got fired, he sat all day and not talking to anyone, sounded like he's isolating the whole world....

shocking news...jon an molina are moving to GA this sat. i am not surprised that they are leaving but i didnt expect so soon. i am gonna miss these love birds very much

    三個月的限期快到,雖然心中知道這種事不能盡信,但我仍然其待這一天的來臨. 今次是我最認真的的一次.連我自己無法解釋

  • BFF Date

Went out with armie last friday. We first enjoyed a lunch/tea at a tea house at orange. That place is very cute and cozy. It was quite relaxing and mind free. After that, we went to The Americana at Glendale and had dinner at Amici. We sat at the bar but somehow they kept asking us to move our seats during our staying. One of the manager felt bad and offered us free dessert and cocktail....that blueberry vodka is so tasty...the service was great, the head chef and the managers came chat with their customers all the time. We even took pictures with them. It was a nice out with armie though my eye got more irritated afterward.  By the time we returned, we had a late night with Charlie who just got off from work at Dennys around 12 midnight. During dinner, charlie mentioned some of his future plans for the dojo. I felt totally flattered when he invited me to join his celebration with armie if everything goes well as planned. Armie and I are now looking forward for the day to come true.
